UK’s largest living Christmas tree
Due to popular demand on Thursday 4 December at 5.30pm one lucky Glow Wild ticket holder will start the Glow Wild festival celebrations by switching on the lights that decorate Wakehurst’s iconic Christmas tree. This event is only open to Glow Wild ticket holders and tickets must be booked in advance.

Lights and lanterns
With your lantern lighting the way, take in the UK’s tallest living Christmas tree and see Wakehurst’s historic landscape and Mansion House brought to life with thousands of lights and lanterns.

Along the way gaze at the tree canopies dripping with an amazing array of seed inspired lanterns crafted by local school children.

Illuminated waters
This glittering night-time trail includes a flotilla of shimmering lights on the Mansion Pond, a sparkling galaxy of star lanterns hanging high above the Water Garden, and a myriad of aromatic fire lanterns in the Walled Garden providing a delicate scent of Frankincense and Myrrh.

Complete your journey by adding your lantern to the ring of light underneath the Christmas tree and make a wish for the future.

Festive treats: There is also a lantern-decorating activity for children of all ages, as well as a roving choir and festive food treats including mulled wine, home-made hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts.

You can also browse Wakehurst’s well-stocked shop during late night openings.

NB: Tickets can be purchased up to 3pm on the day, subject to availability. Advanced booking is essential, tickets will not be available to purchase on the night.
